<sp1> You mean physical exercise? </sp1>
<interlocutor> Yes. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Of course, I do physical exercise everyday. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Why? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Because em you know we need aero-aerobic exercise everyday because it gave us er energy. I need energy because I have busy work and busy study everyday. So em and it keeps me energetic. All my teachers and friends tell me that I'm an energetic girl. And [Pd-er] the other reason is that now I because you need to study er that you need to exercise, but also it give you gives you em your long development future development a good preparation. So you-you have a long way to go in the future. You need a good health to keep yourself going on. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Er, ***. Er do you think fast food is good for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Em, I don't think fast-fast food is good for one health. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Why not? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Em because em I think fast-fast food em is only ???. It-it hasn't have em all the em all energies [Ps-er] the body need. Em so I em I-I like our Chinese food. I think the Chinese food is em is the most scientific food in the world. That's all. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Er, ***. What do you usually do to keep fit? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Oh to keep fit er I have several things to do everyday. Er in the morning, er I always get up at about six o'clock. I ??? to have ha er about [Pt-er] half an hour to exercise. Em, then I er familiar, er then I faci-facilitates in our school er from the com-comparsion er from the comparison er preparation for the Olympic bit. Er, er from now er I er take free use of the facilitates [M2ci3a] the facilitates in our school I-I and do about half an hour's exercise er in the morning. Er in the evening, I always do ha about [Pt-er] 10 minutes er of exercise er to er-er keep fit. Er because I feel myself is too a little er a little bit fat than others even though the outlook [Pk-er] of my er the outlook [Pk-er] of my face are into the like of myself is not [Pt-er] er very fat. That's all. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Now let's move on to something more specific. The topic for our discussion today is Staying Healthy. Each of you will be given a card with four pictures showing an important aspect that we should consider in order stay healthy. I'd like you to describe the pictures briefly and comment on them. You will have one minute to prepare. And each of you will be will have one and half minutes to give your presentation. Don't worry if I interrupt you when time's up. Now here are your cards. </interlocutor>
<interlocutor> Now ***, would please begin? ***, ***, please put your cards aside [Pe-s] to listen to what he say. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Ok. Er in this picture there-there are four pictures in this card. And they all show some aspects and some good habits or bad habits of keeping er ??? er ??? habits. And in the first picture it show that a girl is stopping a gentleman from smoking. And the other one is this is a good habit because smoking is bad for one's health and it'll bad to cancer er to cause cancer. And the other one is a good habit because this man sleep early and get up early. Em the third is a bad one because the-the this man was watching TV this and he is [Ps-er] eating fast food. Fast food is bad to health. Em the fourth one is em who's notice the clock. It is 3 o'clock in at night. So this man is er watching TV still. And [Pd-er] he must can he cannot get up early in the next morning. So my comment on those four pictures are that all-all those pe-people are young people. If they don't keep health in their early ages they will get their results bad result in the future when they are old. But like er the first two, em if they stop smoking and if they em sleep early and get up early they will get a better health in the future. They'll keep their health going on. </sp1>
<sp2> Em there are four pictures. Em they show us they show us some-some-some childs they show us some child. Em, in the in the first picture they show us the child is led to eat [Pt-er] em eat-eat-eat too much. I think [Pk-er] a child is not to eat too much in one meal. Em em the-the-the second they show us em in-in this society the life speed is very fast. So eat the fast food is very popular. So many em many child em is very is very like to go to the McDonalds [Wn-l]. Em the child he em he-he want to go to the McDonalds [Wn-l] but his mother refused. I think his mother think it is bad to eat McDonalds [Wn-l] too much. Em the third picture. It showed us the mother em he is em he-he-he is buying vegetables and fruit. Em he is very wisdom. It is good [Woo-ou] to eat more fruit and vegetables. The-the last picture, em the child is er eating an apple. Em he says [Way-ai] an apple a day can keeps the doctor away. It is it is very useful. Em I always do so. Em so I think everyone should eat [Pt-er] vegetable and fruits. Em it-it do great it great do great good to our health. That's all. Thank you. </sp2>
<sp3> Em em my er topic is the co the importance of ad-adequate physical exercise. Em as we all know er we all of us need energy to do our work everyday. Em how to keep our keep ourselves energetic er we should do exercises. Er there are many types of exercises both indoors or in the outdoors. Er the two picture the-the pictures showed us four kind of outdoor em exercises. The jogging, er Taiji, er aerob-aero-aerob-aerobics er and ???. They are all outdoor exercises. There are also many indoor exercises, such as basketball, em er Pin-ping-pang, er in the many others er many others many others of this kind. Em the most important of is that we should do adequate physical exercise. If we do too much er of er such kind of exercise, we feel very er then we will feel very er tired to do our daily work to do our daily work. Em how to em do em how-how to er balance em the how to balance the exercises em we should er keep [M1p] we should er er the most important the most the standard is that we should er keep er ourselves er feel well er in doing this er exercises. Em em this-this four kind of er exercise er is both er some of them are, sorry, some of them are for are good for er are fit are fit for er olders and some of them are er good for er the youths [Ph-i], such as aerobics is and is women is very good er and [pa-i] er now widely er accepted by our youths [Ph-i]. And [Pa-i] the jogging in the morning er or in the evening er was taken both by olders and [Pa-i] the youths [Ph-i] ... to keep. </sp2>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Yes. Time's up. </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp3> Ok. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Er right now we all have some idea on the varies aspects which consider to stay health. I'd like you discuss this topic further, and see if you can agree on which aspect is most important for university students to stay healthy. During the discussion, you may argue with each other or ask each other questions to clarify the point. You will have about four and half minutes for discussion. Your performance will be judged according to your contribution to the discussion. Er remember during the discussion, you should try to come to an agreement on which aspect is most important for university students to stay healthy. Now please. </interlocutor>
<sp1> I'll do it first. ... em I think because my topic is focusing on the good living habits, so I'll defend myself on this aspect. I think good living habits is more important in keeping university students er healthy because ... first university students are very busy. They have a very heavy load on study. So I-I don't think they have much in doing exercise everyday although I-I did everyday. But you know em often times we have classes in the morning at 8 o'clock and usually we have to study until very late at night until 11 o'clock. So em during the time the day time and the study time it's seems very impossible for us to exercise er ??? enough exercise. So keeping good habits is more important. And for example in the first picture of my card, um, I know most of the young man in university like smoking and that is very bad for for your gentlemen's healthy health. </sp1>
<sp3> Yes. </sp3>
<sp1> And [Pd-er] we are w-we live our way from our family. So we live in on campus. So we often study very light very late at night and [Pd-er] em stay up and [Pd-er] get up very late at-at in the morning. So that is also very bad. What about your comments? </sp1>
<sp3> Er I think our university students should lead adequate physical exercises. Em in fact adeq-adequate physical exercise don't need so much time I think. And it is there's no er ... there are there are lot conflict with [Ww-v] [Wth-z] each other with-within [Ww-v] [Wth-z] er keeping a good [Pd-er] er living ha-habit. Er I think [Pk-er] er keep [Mp] er ... have a good habits leads no leads no time er leads no much time I think. You should er all you have to do is to get up early er and [Pa-i] sleep er get up early in the morning and [Pa-i] sleep at an fix at fixed time in the evening. Er but all you have er you'd better do some exercises in the morning or in the evening to keep you er keep yourself fit [Wi-i:]. Em em at em adequate physical [M3cal] a-a-adequate physics exercises er may er keep yourself [Mr] er very en-energetic er to do the other er your daily works. And [Pa-i] I think er er you just as you er have a healthy diet er have a healthy diet and have er keep a goo-good living habits em th-they are just [Pt-er] the habits of your daily life and [Pa-i] all you have to do is er er the all you have to do everyday is er eat [Pt-er] at a er at a limited of speed eat at a limited speed and [Pa-i] sleep [Pp-er] at a good [Pd-er] er rhythm at a good rhythm. Er they are lot they are er they are er a common they are accommodate with er adequate exercise er physical exercise I think. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok. ***, would you say something of you view? </interlocutor>
<sp2> I agree all of your opinions. Em bu-but you know my topic is a healthy diet. Em so I so I think I should add some something of I of my own. Em I-I think to keep healthy we should [Wou-u:] em live keep a good living habit and also we should [Wou-u:] do some adequate physical exercise. But [Wu-a:] a healthy diet is very very important. So I think em em now we-we are far from our home town, em from our mother and father, em we should [Wou-u:] look after our yourself we should look after ourselves. But [Wu-a:] sometimes, em er the-the restaurant in our campus [Wa-a:] [Wu-a:] is very bad [Pa-n]. Em you know always when-when-when [We-a] enter [We-a] the restaurant, em we-we can't find something we want to eat. So em I think em in-in my in-in my in-in we in our spare time em we should [Wou-u:] em we should [Wou-u:] buy some fruit and-and vegetables em s-such as em apples [Pa-n], em tomatoes, pears. Em we should [Wou-u:] we should [Wou-u:] cook it for ourselves. Em and-and if we do so [Wo-u:], I think it can do a can do very good for our health. Em so. </sp2>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Ok. That's the end of the discussion. Now I like to ask just one of some question on topic of staying healthy. Er ***. </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp1> Hm. </sp1>
<interlocutor> What do you think university authorities do to improve the students' health? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Er we have PE-Physical Education that is set by the authority of the university. So em that is intentionally to improve our healthy condition. Em I think there are other facilities. Oh there are like she introduce that we provide [Mvide] er they provide facilities in the our campus so as to exercise and [Pd-er] I don't think there are other conditions. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Er ***, what do ***, sorry. What do you think of the er health conditions of our people today? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Em I think the health conditions em of our people today is very poor. Em for example [M2ple] take [Wa-i:] the take [Wa-i:] the college students for example, em er take [Wa-i:] me for example, em I-I have a poor sleep, em your look [Woo-u:]. My eye em er around my eye is-is black. Em I think the em the stress the stress of the of the life is very is very big. Em our students have-have to have busy have busy [Msy] ha-have busy classes. And-and we should consider the future. So [Wo-u:] em we I-I-I think we should [Wou-u:] make-make a keep to keep happen is to keep health. This is very important. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Er ***. Do you think that too much pressure is harmful to one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Yes. Definitely. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Why? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Er I think er the university life of our youths is very stressed by the-the society and our parents er parents. Er I think [Mk] er I think the er the the press the press er I think er the er, sorry, I think em em the stress on ourselves em do great harm to our er health and [Md] both our health and [Pa-i] our er daily work. We can't concentrate our-our full energy to do our er study [Mdy] er to-to do our study and [Pa-i] our er later er work later work er later work. And [Pa-i] em I-I-I believe er the power er we-we have er balance er our energy er and [Pa-i] er bal-bal-balance our energy and [Pa-i] er un-un-unburden and easy our mind er in the er doing our-our jobs in our jobs and studies. Er I think er I believe is there is low er there is it is unnecessary for us to er unnecessary for us to er feel er er much stressed er much stressed. And [Pa-i] it is er in er al-al-although it is inevitable in our day er in our u-university er lives, er many students er feel very stressed by er our studies, such as the majors, and [Pa-i] our er and our other er courses. They always feel time is very er is very limited [Mted] is limited [Mmited] er very limited. Er but I think [Mk] but I think er if all of us can er have a schedule a schedule of our time, we will [Ww-v] come to a good result. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok. That's the end of the test. Thank you everyone. </interlocutor>
<spall> Thank you. Goodbye. </spall>
