<sp1> Er basic speaking, I think exercise er is very important. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Why? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Er because er for college student, everyday we have lot of work to do. We have study hard. And therefore we have no time [Wi-ae] to exercise. But em study is important, em health is also important, too. So everyday er daily exercise i-i-is very important for college student. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Hm. And ***. </interlocutor>
<sp2> Yeah. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Em What do you usually do to keep fit? </interlocutor>
<sp2> To keep fit [Pt-er] like [Pe-er] everyday [Wv-w] morning do some exercises. And [Pd-er] that em play [Py-n] volleyball [Wv-w], basketball and [Pd-er] sometime in the summer like swimming. That's all. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Hm. Er ***. Do you think fast food is good for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> No, I think fast food is not good for one's health. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Why? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Because it contains too much sugar and [Pd-er] salt. It is very ah, em, it is very harm for one's health. And if you take too much sugar and salt, you will be fat. It's very bad. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Now let's move on to something more specific. The topic for our discussion today is Staying Healthy. Each of you will be given a card with four pictures showing an important aspect that we should consider in order stay healthy. I'd like you to describe the pictures briefly and then comment on them. You will have one minute to prepare. And each of you will have one and half minutes to give your presentation. And not worry if I interrupt you when time's up. Now here are your cards. </interlocutor>
<sp2> Thank you. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Now ***, would please begin? ***, *** please put your cards aside to listen to what he say. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Ok. Em my topic is the importance of good living habits. From the four pictures, ah, it's refer to smoking, sleeping, watching TV and playing games [Wa-i]. First I'll say smoking is definite not good for one's health. It [Pt-s] can cause many disease, like cancer ???. So we mustn't er smoke. And secondly, sleeping. Er form a good sleeping habits is very important for us health. And er we should sleep er not very late and get up early. So that can we have a good energy for our study in the day time. And watch TV. We should watch TV. And [Pd-er] but we couldn't watch too much time. I-if we should if er we watch too much time, we'll er get tired and don't have a energy for our study. And play games. I think er em moderate play er to play game moderately er is very good for our entertainment. But if we'll over-play it, we'll er er get lost in it. And er it's not good for one's health. That's it. </sp1>
<interlocutor> ***, it's your turn. </interlocutor>
<sp2> Yeah. Em the four the four pictures in mine in mine. Em the-the picture one a boy is eating too much meat and fish. It's hard for digestion. In picture two a mom carries [Pa-n]a baby to for to eat [Pt-er]McDonald fast food [Pd-er]. In picture three a woman [Wo-u:] in the shopping fresh vegetables [Wv-w] and fruits in the supermarket. In picture four, a lovely girl is eating an apple [Pa-n]. The first two pictures and the later [Pa-n] four p two pictures are in striking contrast [Pt-er]. And I think then the-the later [Pa-n] two em is are the proper way to keeping healthy. Em in picture it ??? that apple [Pa-n] a day keeps the doctor away [Way-i:]. I think that if you want to keep healthy you should eat er em much fresh vegetables [Wv-w] and fruits. Don't eat em em something that [Pa-n] is hard for digestion su-such and meat and fish. </sp2>
<interlocutor> ***, now it's your turn. </interlocutor>
<sp3> Em in the first picture of my is er two old man er is jogging. And [Pd-er] in the second picture, er an old an old man is er doing Taiji Quan. And [Pd-er] in my third [Pd-er] pictures er the three girls [Wir-o:] are doing aerobics. in my last pictures there is there is two man swimming is swimming. And I think jogging is very important for the old man, especially after er supper [Wu-a:] because er jogging is very er important em and [Pd-er] it can help you er er it-it is good for your health. And [Pd-er] in the second Tai in the second the Taiji Quan is very good for you to do er for er er as the morning exercises. Em er doing Taiji Quan you had to er get up early and [Pd-er] it is very good I think. And [Pd-er] the aerobics is very good for girls [Wir-o:] because it they want to keep fit. It can it can help you to make you er em disease er fat. And swimming you have to make ??? make ???. And [Pd-er] it will help you be strong. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Right. Now we all have some er idea on the varies aspects which consider to stay health. I'd like you discuss this topic further, and see if you can agree on which aspect is most important for university students to stay healthy. During the discussion, you can argue with each other or ask each other questions to clarify the point. You will have about four and half minutes for the discussion. Your performance will be judged according to your contribution to your er to the discussion. Remember during the discussion, you should try to come to an agreement on which aspect is most important for university students to stay healthy. Now please. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Em I think the most important point for the er university-university students' health is keep the good living habits, just I-I said before. </sp1>
<sp2> Well, I can't agree with you. In my opinion I think that there are many factors to keep healthy. But I think the most factor is er have a healthy diet [Pe-r]. </sp2>
<sp3> And I think er doing er morning exercises is very important because in your er in your life you have you don't have enough time to em do exercises. In the morning you can get up early and ??? is very important. </sp3>
<sp2> I think that if your diet [Pe-r] is healthy then your body will be strong then you'll have em many energies to do other things is the ??? of your body I think. </sp2>
<sp1> But er do you think it is enough just enough for er just have a health diet [Pe-r] we can keep you healthy? </sp1>
<sp2> Absolutely not [Pt-er]! I think that it the most [M1st] the most important factor but not the only factor, you know. </sp2>
<sp1> For-for example, if you have a health diet, but you late you sleep too late and get up too early. </sp1>
<interrupted>
<sp2> Yeah yeah yeah. </sp2>
</interrupted>
<sp1> Do you have er enough e-energy to keep you healthy? ??? </sp1>
<sp2> Absolutely not! Like you just have said that it's the most important not the only. </sp2>
<sp3> Yes, it's important, but it's not the most important I think. I think er do exercises can er use the energy and you will be-be healthy. </sp3>
<sp2> Yeah. But I think there are healthy diet will provide [Wv-w] you the energy to do something. </sp2>
<sp3> But in the em ??? we eat er too much, but er we em we haven't have enough exercise. It's er the most important. </sp3>
<sp1> I-I agree er I agree with b-both of you. Er and health er diet and exercise er are also im-important for one's health. But I think the most important [P2t-s] is good living habits. Yes i-i-if you have a good living habits er em you can er just like d-don't smoke, and don't play over time, and you er have good er s-sleeping habits, and you can keep er er very er er very health er keep very health. And just er ha em diet and exercise, it just er as-aspects of good living habits. </sp1>
<sp2> I think that if you have a health diet [Pe-r] then your stomach will work effectively, then you will have more energy, I think [Pk-er]. </sp2>
<sp3> Er yes. Ha-habit is very important. Doing morning exercises doing morning exercises is also a habit. </sp3>
<sp1> But do you think it is healthy when you doing exercises er an-and and while you smoke and do you think it is healthy when you er have a diet er and while at the same time you smoke. So I think good living habits is very important. </sp1>
<sp2> Er in this point I agree [M2ee] with you. </sp2>
<sp3> Yes. B-but er I think no one will smoke when you doing morning exercises. </sp3>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Ok, Ok. That's the end of the discussion. Now I like you to I like to ask just one of some question on topic of staying healthy. Now ***, what do you think university authorities can do to improve the health of students? </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp1> Em I got a feeling that the authority of the school should pay more attention to the students' health. And he should prove his environment t-to create an en-environment for student to keep healthy. For example, er our school at morning have exercise er exercise as just running. But I think it is in not fit for the students' health because it er student all get up very early and running a very long very-very long. And so they don't have an enough energy to keep the daily study. So I think the authority should change his er mind to and create [Mt] er create environment and change his direction for his peoples. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Hm. Er ***. Er what do you think of the health conditions of our people today? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Health condition. Em l-let me think that. Er in my opinion em ah I think that [Pt-er] people's health condition is improving [Mv] day by day. Er because ah buying the modern technologies the hospital [S2] had [Pa-n] s had [Pa-n] suppliers [Pi-t] with modern facilities [S3] em that may make are us em more healthy. Em and [Pd-er] some-some medicine em will help us em conquer some disease. Em but I think that there are more problems and [Pd-er] er fast food restaurant [Pt-er], like McDonalds and so. Em many people in today's society em they beat themselves [Wv-w] in working and maybe the don't have spare time to enjoy themselves [Wv-w] a good [Pd-er] health and healthy diet [Pe-r] [Pt-er]. Maybe ??? they will enjoy [Wo-au] themselves [Wv-w] in the er fast food restaurant. I think that is not [Pt-er] healthy. If this con-con this condition ??? I think that it's do harm to their health. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Ok. Er ***, do you think good interpersonal relations are important to one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Er yes. I think it's very important because </sp3>
<interlocutor> Now the question is er do you think good interpersonal relations the relation between people are very important for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Em yes. Because if you are-are em good with each other em get well with each other, you will be happy. Er and [Pd-er] when you work when you are in the life, you will em have many happiness and [Pd-er] er I think em er you can help each other and [Pd-er] be helped er by each other er by the other people. And it's very good. I think it's very ss I think it can help you for your health. Er em thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok. Er that's the end of the test. Thank you everyone. </interlocutor>
<spall> Thank you, sir. </spall>
