<interlocutor> Thank you, ***. Now that we know each other we can do some group work. First of all, I'd like to ask each of you a question. Now ***, do you think daily exercises are important to your health? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Yes, I think so. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Why? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Er... at present [Pt-er], er we have a lot of spare time. And we can do er some exercises [Mer] in the spare time. I think we can makes time pass quickly. And besides, er... besides, our body now [Pw-r] er is er I er I think at present [Pt-er], our body our body is er been on the ???lie- delie- and I think if we can er doing some exercises [Mer] is er we can make [Wa-I] our body keep fit. Er...... in addition, in addition to this, if we can take some exercises [Mer], it will it make em it can make us er to be more co-cooperative [Wa-ei] and make more friends with different[Me] people from different [Me] different [Me] department. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. ***, do you think going on a diet is good for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Well, er, each coin has two sides. So firstly I think if for very fat people it is really a good way to keep fit. But maybe it is not a healthy measure. Some people they just use this radically so maybe it is not very health healthy for them. That's my idea [Pa-r]. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Thank you. ***, do you think fast food is good for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Sorry. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Do you think fast food is good for one's health? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Er... I think fast food is not good for one's health. Because I think [Pk-er] er people when people er eat the food very fast [Pa-r], or just they go to the fast food restaurant to have some hamburgers, and so on, is not er it's not very good. It's bad to have so much sweet food. I think it's not good for one's health. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok. Now let's move on to something more specific. The topic for our discussion today is staying healthy. Each of you will be given a card with four pictures showing an important aspect that we should consider to in order to stay healthy [Wl-r]. I'd like you to describe the pictures briefly and comment on them. You will have one minute to prepare and each of you will have one and a half minutes to give your presentation. Don't worry if I interrupt you when time is up. Now here are your cards. </interlocutor>
<interlocutor> Ok, now, ***, could you please begin? And *** and ***, could you please put your cards aside? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Ok, these are four pictures showing on the different diet [Pe-r]. Er I think I see the development of our daily er I mean the quality of life. A lot of people want to have a change to their er structure of diet [Pe-r]. So different people views differently to the diet structure. And first picture shows that people who eat so much and especially an oil corn. And second shows a em a girl who want to eat McDonalds. And I think er both are the [Pe-r] ways both ways are not very good for your health in the er daily life. Because er firstly you don't eat them er proper in the proper way. And second, the diet contains no nutrition, especially the McDonalds. And I think the better way is to choose more er vegetables full of fivers I think. Just like the saying 'an apple [Wl-r] an apple a day keeps the doctor away'. So I would I can't agree [Ma] more about this way. So I think I will follow [Wll-m] this kind of habit, daily habit of diet. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. ***, it's your turn. </interlocutor>
<sp3> My cards has three comments about this quality of the adequate physical exercise. In today's society [Pe-r], I think the the science [M1e] and technology are develop [P2e-r] very quickly. So people always are, most people are er maybe are doing their work which always sit at their desk [Pk-er] all the time. I think they don't have er adequate physical exercise [S3]. So the er most people er maybe don't have a healthy bo er bodies. Em, but if you don't have a healthy body [Po-r] bodies, you can't do your job very well. Er so people I think today's people should pay attention to the er physical exercises [S3]. They will, em I think they will. Though we have, you know, we have a lot of knowledge on your jobs or you you can study very well, I think, all is useless. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Thank you. ***, it's your turn. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Er, on my card, er it shows me, it shows us an important part of staying healthy. That is good living habits. There are four [Wour-o] pictures on my card [Md]. The first one is one girl and one boy, the boy is smoking, and the the girl saying 'no' to the boy. Er I think she must told something em something er bad to the boy that if he if he continue smoking. On the second picture, there was a boy er go to bed at [Pt-er] ten o'clock in in the evening, and get up at six o'clock in the on the er in the morning. On the third on the third picture, there was a boy eating a lot of things while [Wi-ei] he watching [Wa-er] TV. Er on the four on the fourth [Wour-er:] sector picture, there was a boy, er play computer games [Wa-e] electronic games [Wa-e] until midnight. I think, er, having a good living habits is very important for us to staying healthy. Er, such as er go to bed early and er... get up and get up early. Er...... and there are also something em do harmful to our health. Er, such as smoking, eat too much and unregularly, er stay stay up until until midnight. All this are do harm to our healthy. I think if we want to stay in health, we must have a good living habits. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. Now we all have some idea of various aspects we should consider to stay healthy. I'd like you to discuss this topic further and see if you can agree on which aspect is most important for university students to stay healthy. During the discussion, you may argue with each other or ask each other questions to clarify a point. You will have about four and a half minutes for the discussion. Your performance will be judged according to your contribution to the discussion. Remember during the discussion, you should try to come to an agreement on which aspect is the most important for university students to stay healthy. </interlocutor>
<sp1> I think for university students, if if they want to stay in health, they must have a good living habits. For example, they should go to bed and get up early. Er...... eating at a regular time. I think if they can do this, it will do er very good to the health, to their healthy. </sp1>
<sp2> Yeah, I can't agree you more. Because I have seen a lot of students in our school, they just have the wrong attitudes towards the health. Some people just think that, well, we are very young, so it's just very early for us to practice our er do practice in the morning. We are [Ware-er] so young and it seems no disease right now, so it's ok. Maybe when when I am in the mid-mid-mid in my mid-age, maybe in forty or fifty years old, I can begin with the practice every day. So I don't think this is the right way. They should change the attitude towards the health. They should form a good habit, and exercise. They should have a er good habit of daily life. Yeah, I think this is the right way. </sp2>
<sp3> In my college I see some all the students neglect their physical exercise. Er always they er sleep in the morning and they get up very late er very lately. And in the evening they just study [Pu-r] study [Pu-r]. And always they are study. They neglect their physical exercises. I think doing physical exercise is very important to people's health. Er because some people think ah we are young and we have a healthy body. So we needn't we don't need physical exercise. I think it's a wrong attitude. Er I think all the people should pay attention to the physical exercise. </sp3>
<sp2> And what's more, I think the school itself must change the attitude towards health. Because I think er a lot of universities right now they don't have the right attitude towards the health. They don't take the physical education classes seriously. Er especially er well especially some universities just like VOG, a lot of students they are just very busy with their studies. And the school didn't treat them didn't give them some chance to practice themselves, doing some exercises. And I think the school must change attitude, and give the students time and chance and make them and give them the chance to practice themselves. Yeah, that's the, I think that's the second important er yeah I think maybe the time schedule of the school er need a little bit change. Er yeah I think we can change our timetable, we can schedule different time for entertainment or for studying separately. </sp2>
<sp3> So I think the college students should pay er...... pay a right attitude to the physical exercises [S3] and the daily life habit. Everybody should should not get up so late they should get up earlier and then have some em physical exercises [S3]. And then they may be in the high spirits. And they can do their job very well. </sp3>
<sp1> Er, I can't agree with you. I think at present, most of us have a lot of spare time, if we can do some physical exercises [S3] during their spare time, we not we not only can make us keep fit, but also can er make a lot of friends. This will make our our er college life er colorful. And can make us feel very relax. And we can er study very efficie- efficiency and er...... and more er and more energetic. </sp1>
<sp2> Yeah, and some companies in the society, they er don't treat the er health for employees em seriously. They just focus [Wo-o] on their abilities of study or their diplomas. So and, this is a kind of maybe this lead to another wrong way to the students in the univer- universities. They they think that they don't need to practice themselves because they don't need that kind of ability. It's still very early time. It's still has a lot of chances to take exercises. So it's not a good way. We should change the company's attitude towards healthy. They should treat the er body health and the mental health both important. </sp2>
<sp1> I don't think so. Some of the private [Wi-ei] companies [Pa-r] er also take er put er importance to the health of some employ-employees. I think they er they won't em pay much medical fees on the employees when he employ-employees. So I think em...... proper em most er I think er...... properly you are right but I think most, some of the private companies also take er pay a pay attention to the healthy of students. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Time is up. This is the end of our discussion. Now I'd like to ask you just one last question on the topic of staying healthy. Er ***, what do you think university authorities can do to improve the health [Wl-r] of the students? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Er, I think all the er university authorities should call [P2l-r] on students to have er physical exercises [S3] in the morning er and should call on students er to attend some class [Pa-r] some sports class [Pa-r] to have physical exercises. And maybe we can we can do some actions to group the students er the to have er the physical exercises [S3], which is er they are which they are interested [S2] in, such like er the table tennis and the football, such like this kind of sports, sports. Just like me, I like to play table tennis very much, so I think if the university authority er have a club [Pu-r] have a table tennis club [Pu-r], I will attend, er I will join in it. And I will play table tennis every weekend. I think it's maybe it is very good to the students. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Thank you. Now, ***, now do you think people nowadays are more concerned about their health? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Em. Yes, I think so. Er for example every every morning you can see [Wee-ei] a lot of people doing morning exercises [Mer] er...... no matter not only the young youngster younger but also some old peoples. I think most, all of them want to keep a good health by doing exercises [Mer] [S3]. Er...... and er some authorities also give er opportunity to the [Pe-r] employees to er make them [Pe-r] keep fit. For example, they make them [Pe-r] er they provide us the week-long week-long holiday and er give them [Pe-r] some time to do some traveling or have a good rest so that they can work very efficiency and have a good health. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. ***, do you think good interpersonal relationships are important to one's health [Wl-r]? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Yes, I think so. Er the health contains two parts. I think one is the health of their bodies [Wo-er], and the other is mental health. So this kind of health is just a kind of mental health. To balance the er relationship between you and your partner is a kind of er, maybe the kind of skill. A lot of people try to get along well with your friends or your colleagues [Wo-er] [S2]. This kind of ability is very important in the new century, especially for the new century's youngsters. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. That's the end of the test. </interlocutor>
<spall> Thank you. </spall>
