In other words, I can say that I love it very much because I want to be abroad [Md], because I want to have a well-paid job, er just I like to ??? out my great enthusiasm ??? since I am very young and it just this er this profound interest promotes me to to to ??? to the study. I like listening to English songs, reading English novels, especially [Me] the detective novels. And my favorite writer, one of my favorite writers is August Christine, I don't know whether you have write novels [Wo-ou], because it was very wonderful novels [Wo-ou], and </sp1>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Ok. </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp1> Ok. </sp1>
<sp2> Er I would say it's my honor to have the chance to take the examination. Erm first I am introducing myself. I am ***, there, then I am a sophomore student studying on the subject of computer science. Er I think [Wth-s] I am an optimistic boy with a lot of dreams and hobbies. I think [Wth-s] I'd like to be a friend of each of you and I erm I like erm make everybody happy. Thank you. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Thank you. </interlocutor>
<sp3> Thank you for giving me the chance to in-introduce myself. Erm my name is ***. I come from the capital Zhejiang province, Hangzhou is a really beautiful city. Now I study in Beijing. Erm I am a freshman. My major is Russian. I think as a language Russian is more difficult than English. So it takes most of my time. Erm in my spare time, I like doing sports, listening to music and playing the guitar. And I am good at playing basketball, football, tennis and also I am good at playing the guitar. So after graduation [Wd-d], I want to be an official in the government. Though it is a bit difficult, I will try my best. </sp3>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Ok. </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp3> That's all for my introduction. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Thank you. er, now that we know each other, we can do some group work. First of all, I'd like to ask each of you to say something about university life. ***, now, what do you think is the most interesting aspect of university? </interlocutor>
<sp1> Er, in my opinion, the most interesting aspect is that you can fully arrange you can arrange everything for yourself, you have enough freedom, er you see in the university, er you have more free time, the teacher, for example, if you want to take examinations, if you want to ??? the teacher won't er give you too much details, maybe he just instruct you. In this case, I think [Wth-s] our characteristic and personality can be formed??? in university life, just not like when you were at senior middle school, because everything was arranged by your teachers, you have no characteristic but here er it's more colorful. College life is more colorful, also you can have a part-time job to er going to erm society, to have a er slight try to do something simple maybe late you can more more and more valuable experiences </sp1>
<interlocutor> Thank you. ***, have you been involved in student union activities? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Erm, well, I think I have take the volunteer job maybe in some cases. Er I think [Wth-s] that is a great challenge to me because it can train me and make me er more comfortable and I can be prepared for later social work. Er that is er that taught me a lot er once in I was prepared to be the volunteer of the football match. Although [S1] I did er fewer [Wew-ei] thing [Wth-s], fewer [Wew-ei] things [Wth-s], but I think [Wth-s] I got prepared. I I am got a lot of experience from that. So it is very meaningful for me. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Thank you. ***, er do you think students should take an active part in student union activities? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Yeah, I think so. Because in college, students should erm learn more and should develop their abilities [S3] [Pi-ti] in the, so erm taking part in the societies and take some part-time jobs will be of great help. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Thank you. Now let's move on to something more specific. The topic for discussion today is student activities. Each of you will be given a card with four pictures showing different activities. I'd like you to give a brief description of each picture er and then make some comments on it. You have one minute to prepare and each of you will have one and a half minutes to give your presentation. Don't worry if I interrupt when time is up. Now here are your pictures. </interlocutor>
<interlocutor> Ok, ***, now would you please begin? ***, *** please put your cards aside and let's listen to what *** *** has to say. </interlocutor>
<sp1> So I think with four four pictures [Wi-er]. Er the first picture [Wi-er] er I think is all in west and all it is all it is all now today activities student activities in their spare time and the first first picture er we can see some native speakers they are talking happily with er maybe Chinese students. And er they communicates ideas and I think they have a lot they have a lot to share. And the second and second pictures are dancing party. I have been ever attend such one. Er it is in hour ??? time and a lot of students can er know each other quite well, also this dancing party can be held between universities. The third one is er so I think the third one maybe very common in the student union. Er this about er photograph photographs and in ours we also have one we have such kind of photograph show er every at regular interval. The fourth one I er our our department our department other and the other department we have ever had one. And er we can make use of the knowledge [Mdg] we have learnt and our experiences to er communicate with each other. And er so I think third pictures all about the student activities and it enrich our life. Er we quite we quite admit that our school supply us such good opportunities to hold the [We-er] activities. </sp1>
<interlocutor> That's all? </interlocutor>
<sp1> That's all, thank you. </sp1>
<interlocutor> Good, now, ***, it's your turn. </interlocutor>
<sp2> I think er there are four pictures in my paper. the first picture is about market research, I think [Wth-s], in the picture the boy distributing some papers to the customers. Erm from this form, er we can get more we can get something [Wth-s] that is needed something needed by the customers. Erm and in the second picture I I call it home-teaching, er the boy maybe a college student sitting around child, he can teach the child many things [Wth-s] that can't be learn by on class. I think [Wth-s] it's especially useful for those are eager to have some interesting things [Wth-s], the the children, er, yeah. The third one is about scientific planting. Those students are sent to the country and er teach those farmers or peasants how to plant croms crops in a sci-scientific way. That will be a high efficient in a if we plant the crops erm scientifically. And the third the fourth one is about ??? report, I call that. Erm in that case, I think [Wth-s] is the most trainingful for the students, especially you are accommodate some foreigners. Erm you can accompany with them and talk to them erm introduce those ??? on in the hall. Erm it is very meaningful. Erm that's it. </sp2>
<interlocutor> Ok, ***. </interlocutor>
<sp3> The first picture is activity to help disabled. I think the disabled person are really are the person who really need our help. And erm in that activities [Ma], we also can learn something [Wth-s] from the disabled, erm like the ??? put put. Erm in the second picture is repair the equipment. Erm for students they can pra-practice what they learn in class, and they can also help others, I think. But I can't repair equipments so that was not a good chance for me. Erm the third picture is volunteers of ???. Erm in ours our university, there are many students who are volunteers in the ??? . They can erm they help a lot of foreigners, atheletes so I also want to take part in the ???, but I have no chance because when it take took place, I was in ju erm senior school. The fourth picture is about helping the [We-er] old. Erm when I study in the when I when I was in the erm junior school, I erm every [Mr] Sunday or Saturday, I go to the erm go go to the erm old old peoples and help them to sweep sweep the floor, clean the window and make beds for them. So it I I learn a lot from that activities. Thank you. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Thank you. Now we all have some idea of the various kinds of student activities. I'd like you to discuss this topic further and see if you can agree on whether such activities are beneficial to college students. During the discussion, you may argue with each other or ask each other questions to clarify a point. You'll have about four and a half minutes for the discussion. Your performance will be judged according to your contribution to the discussion. Remember during the dis-discussion you try to you should try to come to an agreement on why students can benefit from taking part in student activities. Now you can begin. </interlocutor>
<sp1> Ok. So I think the same ??? popular and male students or female students that they quite appreciate life in the university [Mty] or college, they think [Wth-s], er especially er they think [Wth-s] the the part-time activities, I mean the students take ??? social practice and er volunteer activities very attractive them, are very attractive to them. And so what do you think [Wth-s] it when you have been in university after 2 years? </sp1>
<sp2> Do I, you mean? </sp2>
<sp1> What do you think the what what kind of benefit you may have got after you have been in the university for 2 years? </sp1>
<sp2> Yes. I think [Wth-s] I am more trained from those social activities because er the universities not are school of study in er about your books also about the socials, society. Erm because we are just in a group called little society er in our university, but the outside is a big one. So we must be prepared for the [We-er] outside, then it is better for us to be get the training in this these activities. I think [Wth-s] after 2 years, I will be much better er to communicate with the peoples and be convenient [M2e] to the others. I think [Wth-s] I will be helpful to the people. About you? </sp2>
<sp> I think we can benefit a lot. Erm when I in junior sen-senior school, I help the [We-er] olds and er during er during activities [M2t] they often tell me some stories about what they did in in their life time er and tell me some truth so I benefit a lot. And now because this is the first year for me in the university and luckily, I am the head of a society of learning society, ok, I don't know how exactly how how and I should make a schedule and organize people er the many many things [Wth-s]. </sp3>
<sp1> The activities er is gain you gain more abilities in this and the students </sp1>
<sp3> Yeah, yeah. </sp3>
<sp1> Yeah, and I also have the experience. I remember that one thing on the date. Yeah, I think [Wth-s] when I was in middle school or senior middle school, er I didn't take take care of I didn't take care much of others, I mean I just er I just er erbe based with my own affairs [Wa-er], but after er after having been in the university for 2 years, I found that teamwork is very important. You see er crucial [Wc-tr] part to your success. I also should be considerate other peoples. So I take part in this organization and I have also taken I have also taken part in several activities organized by this community. Er once I went to a went to a hospital to take care of the [We-e] old people and also we went to a school er in which the the children has something [Wth-s] has something [Wth-s] wrong with intelligence and I I see these people I know I should do lot to contribute [S1] our society to help such kind of people. And I know sending your expressing your love to others is also in profound sense is happiness to yourself. So er and social also do some social practice like you said. At first maybe </sp1>
<interrupted>
<interlocutor> Ok, now let's listen to what they he has to say. </interlocutor>
</interrupted>
<sp2> As to me something [Wth-s] special specific I'd like to choose to be a market reporter erm in the student activities. I think [Wth-s] erm that can give me more chance [Wa-ae] more chances [Wa-ae] to er contact [S2] with the people in the society, er such as those customers, also I can erm get well with those er shop managers. I I will be the [We-e] important man er just be the bridge to the customers and managers. I think [Wth-s] I'll exert my best to communi-communicate them, also it's very trainful. Er you can er it needs a lot energy erm erm it need my erm I need to going around streets doing the work, so that will be hard, so I'd like to take this challenge. So that's my dream also. </sp2>
<sp3> I think, for a language learner, communication is very important. So erm when you take part in activities activities, you can communicate [S4] with others and develop your teamwork er ???. So because erm I think that [M2t] that is very important. Erm </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok, that's the end of our discussion. ***, last one last question judge you. Now do you know anything about the student activities in universities abroad? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Erm I don't know exactly. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok, now erm do you think it is worthwhile to spend time on student activities? </interlocutor>
<sp3> Yeah, I think [Wth-s] so. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Please give your reasons. </interlocutor>
<sp3> Erm because [Ms] I'd say that it can help you to learn er to learn many things [Wth-s] like teamwork and er you give you take part in a students union. You should erm do many things and communicate [S4] with other students and make schedule, make appointments so and help the teachers, so I think that is of great important. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok, now, ***, er what er which student activity do you like most? </interlocutor>
<sp2> Erm I said I just want to be some like the volunteers or do do the thing [Wth-s] free of charge and because I just need that is another kind of education erm not in books er you as we all know that er after graduation many of us will go to work directly, so what we need er mostly is the experience of er so-society activities, so I'd like to be some be the volunteers or do something [Wth-s] good for the society. </sp3>
<interlocutor> Ok, thank you. That's the end of our test. Good-bye. </interlocutor>
