Education is a heated topic of today. Different people have different attitudes to it. Some people see education simply as going to schools or colleges, or as a means to secure good jobs. But others view education as a lifelong process. In my opinion, education is an important and systematic project throughout one's life.
In today's society with new information and knowledge surging, we can't stop learning after graduation from universities. There is limitless knowledge to learn. What's more, "knowledge is power", as Bacon said. Once you stop educating yourself, you'll be soon left behind. As a famous saying goes, " once being left behind, you'll be bullied." Therefore, for a modern adult person, if you hope to achieve something and be recognized in the society, you have to keep learning.
Education in different life periods has different functions. During the childhood period, education provides you some basic skills for learning, such as being literate, knowing fundmental math methods, etc. Following the childhood period, you'll learn more and more things, but still basic ones. In the university, you should learn to know how to learn by yourself. With this skill, you can educate youself whatever as you will in your later life.
To be a powerful modern person in today's society, education is a good method to arm youself, and then to be more powerful. Thereby, one should never stop education for education is a lifelong process.
