Education is a very important to a modern adult person. It is a lifelong process.
It is said that a modern adult person should master English, using a computer and driving a car. We can learn English and to use a computer at school, but those knowledge are too few. Everyday new things appear and new words appear. English is a living language so it does not always keep the same. The computer industry developes very quickly. At school we can learn how to copy a composition by a computer, but few of us know how to paint a wonderful picture, get useful information, protect our computers from being attacked by hackers and so on. All of these should be learnt by ourselves, after graduation from school. We do not have a lesson of driving a car, so the only way we can follow is to learn by ourselves. We can have a solid grounding in knowledge at school but cannot get all the knowledge we may use in the future. We can learn theories at school but cannot know how to solve all the problems in practice. The most important thing in schools is to learn how to learn, not to learn all the knowledge.
Education can help a person get a good job but if he learns nothing after getting the job, he may lose the job. He should always learn something more in order to keep his job.
These days I pay much attention to the want ads in the newspaper. I find that the more skills you master, the more opportunities you have. How to master more skills? The reply is to learn all the times. A mordern adult person is not willing to do a same job lifelongly. He want to develop himself and have a good future, so he has to learn.
If a mordern adult person does not get education all the life time, he must be out of time. Don't forget the old saying, "Never too old to learn."
