There is an old saying in Chinese, "Learn as long as you live". It is well-known almost to everyone for it expresses an eternal truth: knowledge is endless so our education should be endless too as far as we're living in society.
Nobody, even if he's a born-genius, knows a piece of the world when he first comes to the world. He must learn how to speak, what this is and what that means. Before he gets the formal education at school, he does keep on educating himself. And then, when he has fully got the education of speaking, understanding and other basic abilities for life, he begins a series of formal education. Day by day, he knows more about the nature, the world and the society. Physics, geography, maths, biology...are the subjects each of which he knows a little and at last, he may choose one as his specialty for getting a certificate. After all his days in school, he steps into the society and starts working. Someone may falsely think until now, the education one should get has stopped for there is no longer need for him to return to school except when it is necessary. But, how do we judge if one is having education? Only by his entering school? By his main actions during a day? Neither. As long as he gets something new which he is unfamiliar before we should call he's educated for receiving that new thing. Even if during a whole day's work, he only learns how to stall a (sting) correctly, he's having education still. He learns technology from his colleagues during his work and little by little, he knows more about his work. Who can say that is not education? And this kind of education may last a lifelong time.
Besides, though we are leaving schools with great knowledge, we're all clear that what we've learned is at most a little drop of water compared with the rich knowledge sea our superiors have accumulated and we ourselves and our offspring will create. So, we can't stop absorb knowledge. "I've got the education systematically". This notion is typically wrong. Everyday, we still keep receiving what is totally new to us. For instance, we frequently hear the new words. "IT", "Beng", "Color" and so on which are never heard before. The whole human is getting more and more education everyday. So, education to everyone is, of course, a lifelong process.
