Humankind is inseparable from nature and the environment. People need wildlife for sustenance, clothing, and preservation of the ecological balance. As human populations grow, wildlife becomes increasingly threatened. Measures need to be taken to preserve valuable wildlife.
Growing populations of humans require developing increasingly greater amounts of land. Much of this land is inhabited by wildlife that has nowhere to go once its habitat has been destroyed. This phenomenon is supposedly very detrimental to the entire environment.
Governments should provide incentives (such as tax incentives) to companies that follow wildlife- friendly practices. Likewise, those who disregard regulations should be punished with fines severe enough to make such wildlife-detrimental practices cost inefficient.
Additionally, sensitive ecological areas should be protected. Nothing can replace an extinct species, and man-made extinction is simply wrong and inexcusable.
Finally, education programs aimed at increasing awareness of wildlife should be instated in schools. While less concrete results can be expected from this measure, it can have long term effects on the opinions of future generations.
With the right combination of education and enforcement, wildlife can survive and thrive in harmony with humanity.
