Being a recent college graduate and getting ready to embark on the job-hunting process, I know how difficult it is to find a job. The entire process is new to us, and we do not have much experience in the ways of resume building and interviewing. With more and more people going to college, the competition is much stiffer than before. Also, since September 11th, 2001, the number of jobs available (in America) has greatly decreased. The task of finding a job is a daunting one, but it does not have to be.
Many universities offer workshops on interviewing. These provide the graduate with the skills necessary to make a good first impression. Also there are many internet sites devoted to job searching, which can help a person determine which companies are hiring. Another solution is to contact your university. Many have programs that help with job placement. These typically rely on alumni with the same degree for help. This is an excellent opportunity because having a connection is a great way to put you ahead in the job-hunting process. Employing any of these ideas and talking with friends to see which method they used will certainly make finding a job easier.
