Though many people feel that their country or hometown is superior to others, most would agree that traveling to those "less desirable" places has its benefits. For one, traveling broadens one's knowledge. It forces a person to look at life from different points of view and opens his mind to new cultural experiences. Getting out of one's comfort zone makes a person grow and become more sensitive to topics that he previously knew nothing about.
While embarking on adventures and acquiring knowledge, one also comes across another advantage of traveling: making new friends. Traveling allows one to meet many different types of people, ones he would not have met otherwise. By forming close friendships with others from a different background, a person can vicariously experience many aspects of that way of life.
Some people are constant travelers, though in many ways this is a wonderful way to live, it is not without its drawbacks. People may lose sense of where "home" is and feel they do not have ties to any particular place. Also traveling frequently puts a strain on relationships. Constantly being away makes it difficult to sustain any type of long-term relationship. Nonetheless, traveling provides an excellent opportunity for people to experience new things.
