When deciding where to live, a big decision is whether to choose the city or the country. Many people feel that the city offers many conveniences and allows them a broader range of activities. One benefit of the city is that there is more of a cultural environment; plays and museums are at one's fingertips. Public transportation is generally well established and makes travelling easier and cheaper. However, the country definitely has many attractions. People do not have to contend with the pollution, traffic, and noise of the city. They typically can afford larger houses and more land. Many find the country to be more peaceful and relaxing and will gladly forgo the conveniences of the city.
Some disadvantages of the country are that it is isolated and people must travel for entertainment. Also, sometimes the school systems are not as developed as in the city. However, living in the city has drawbacks as well. One must deal with less personal space and less freedom. The pollution is also much worse, as is the noise and traffic.
Determining where to live depends on one's personality and lifestyle. As for, myself, I would like to live in the city while I am young and experience all it has to offer. When I get older and, have a' family I feel that the country is more ideal. It allows plenty of space and freedom to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.
