Vegetation in our cities seems to be disappearing at a rapid rate. As cities grow more and more populated, more buildings and roads are appearing to accommodate the numbers of people. Inevitably, this construction results in the disappearance of vegetation.
City vegetation is something we cannot risk losing so quickly. Trees, grass, and flowers contribute to the beauty of the city. Vegetation is also beneficial to the climate and the air in a city. With pollution increasing, the additional loss of vegetation will be more damaging to the city's environment.
Governments need to be more aggressive with legislation for the protection of our depleting city vegetation. This legislation seems to be the only solution to this problem. On an individual level, people can contact their representative in the government to stress the importance of such legislation.
