People are watching more and more television these days, with a large portion of the viewers being children. Given the impressionability of children, it is no wonder that TV is having a great influence on them.
Not all television programs are harmful; some may influence children in a positive way. Though there are educational programs and shows that teach children morals, the majority of programs on TV have a negative influence on children. With all of the violence, sex, and bad language on television today, children are growing up faster.
The biggest problem with the influence of television is that children have the ability to view shows that are created for an older audience. Strict parental monitoring as well as blocking devices on televisions can help alleviate some of these problems. With the proper guidance, television can benefit children instead of hurting them.
