<Topic>The Prejudice Against Women</Topic>
<Source></Source>
<Nationality>USA</Nationality>For many, many years there has been a prejudice against women. They have been deemed inferior to men in the workplace, politics, and society in general. This prejudice was blatantly obvious many years ago, but as society progresses so does the general attitude towards women.
Women were always thought to be housewives and knowledgeable about domestic affairs. It is true that this is where most of the women spent their time and where their expertise lay. However, contrary to popular belief, this is not where their talent and knowledge ended. Society refused to see that women were strong and capable in many areas, even those in which men dominated. Only recently has society begun to realize that women have a great deal to contribute.
When women began working outside of the home it was obvious by their paychecks that they were viewed as inferior to men. Though they preformed the same job and worked the same hours, women were paid a considerable amount less than their male coworkers. Though this issue is much resolved today, remnants of discrimination are still evident. There are a great deal more men in politics, high-ranking executive positions, and in the military. I feel that in due time this discrimination will be completely eliminated, and women will be on equal ground in all aspects of life.
