In today's fast-paced world, predictions about one's personal and professional future are difficult to accurately determine. In every person's life, there are many factors over which one has no control. Despite this, everyone must set goals to remain focused on success. Goals foster plans of action, which can help estimate the course one's life may take. Five years from now, my goals are to create of a comfortable family life and work in a China-related field.
I have invested a lot of time and resources in China and Asia. I began serious martial arts training at age thirteen. I studied Asian philosophy, history, geography, and politics in college. Most importantly, I am currently living in China, having been here nearly two years. For this reason, I would like my career to be related to China. Perhaps I will earn a graduate degree and teach, or maybe I will start my own business. Exactly what I do not yet know.
More important than, though not mutually exclusive from, my professional life is my family life. I plan to be married soon, so there is great possibility I will have a child five years from now. I hope so. What I want most is to be a good husband and father, to provide for, protect, and properly manage my family.
New plans in five years will probably involve how to best raise and educate my son or daughter. When the time arrives, my wife and I will consider all our needs secondary to those of our child. I will also determine how to best care for my mother and parents-in-law. Such is as it should be, in accordance with natural order.
