Some people loathe change while others feel stability is suppressing. Both are inevitable in life and sometimes bring happiness and other times bring pain. The source of happiness varies from one person to the next and from each situation to the next.
The people that see change as the source of their happiness are generally very anxious and restless. Stability is boring to them, and they feel they must constantly, be experiencing new things to remain happy. Others thrive in their comfort zone and dislike change. These people tend to prefer an, environment that they can control and predict; change causes them to step out of their safety net and experience the unfamiliar.
I feel that to be happy one must embrace both stability and change. Stability is indeed comforting and does promote happiness. However, sometimes people settle for less than what they deserve just because they are comfortable. Change is necessary, though maybe not welcome at the time, to reach the place where one can be truly happy. Once one reaches this place, stability is desirable.
