Media today includes print, radio, television; Internet, and wireless technology. This wide variety provides many advantages to society. Having many different mediums makes obtaining information extremely simple. Also one can choose the medium that best suits his taste, or the one that is most convenient at that time.
Though a wide variety of media does have its advantages, it does have drawbacks. Due to the number of choices, the companies must compete to win the audience's attention. This often leads to dramatization and can decrease the accuracy of the information.
Though in general a large selection of media is advantageous, the drawbacks must also be taken into account. It is the media's responsibility to provide accurate, reliable information to their consumers. Using a creative way to do this benefits the consumer and the company. However, great care should be taken to ensure that in the quest for creativity, accuracy is not lost.
