U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer keep pushing to extend the eviction moratorium at the expense of millions of mom-and-pop landlords. Some of these landlords are already in bankruptcy, and the rest are losing their livelihoods and retirement funds. The federal government has allocated over $46 billion for rent relief, but almost 90% of that is yet to be distributed. Why don't Pelosi and Schumer get their act together and distribute those billions to the landlords instead of to the tenants? Then they won't need an eviction moratorium. These landlords will surely remember the moratorium come election time in November 2022.
