The first Texas location of Wild Fork Foods opened in Frisco earlier this year at 4770 Eldorado Pkwy. The store offers more than 700 products, ranging from fresh meats and produce to breads and desserts. It also offers wild-caught seafood and a collection of plant-based proteins. The personal finance website WalletHub gave the state's highest ranking to the No. 22 Frisco, while Dallas, No. 238, received the lowest ranking in the state. Frisco's booming economy and population helped it soar above McKinney, Allen and Denton, which were ranked at Nos. 74, 80 and 93, respectively, while Plano, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Richardson, Mesquite, Carrollton, Arlington and Irving were all placed in the lower one-third of rankings at No. 103 or worse. A study also named Frisco's real-estate market the best in the nation. In June, H-E-B broke ground on 110,000-square foot stores in Frisco and Plano, which are expected to open next fall. The Frisco H-E-B store is located on the northeast corner of Legacy Drive and Main Street on land the company bought in 2016. The company initially announced its move to the Dallas-Fort Worth cities in March, and it quickly became the talk of the town, with some residents comparing the recent announcement to "winning the lottery." Construction began on Lexington Park, located partially on Brinkmann Ranch, in March. "I am excited to begin development of this community of over 4,000 residential units, including over 2,000 single-family homes," John Landon, president and CEO of Landon Development, said in a statement. "These homes will have multiple builders with varied housing styles and will be broken into smaller communities with different housing prices from $400,000 to $1,000,000." Landon Development purchased 637 acres for the new development in summer 2020. Twin sisters Hannah and Jessica Gerlacher, 22, alleged in a lawsuit in July that a former coach who worked with the national-level athletes at Frisco and Plano gyms sexually abused them for several years, beginning when they were 15 years old. The coach denied the allegations through a statement from Cheer Athletics, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. After Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an executive order requiring masks in schools, businesses and county buildings because of the delta variant of COVID-19 causing case numbers to spike during late summer, Collin County Judge Chris Hill emphasized that he would not require his county residents to follow suit.
