北京外国语大学中国外语与教育研究中心定于2021年12月1日（周三）下午15:30举办一年一度的“北外语料库日”活动暨首次“鹤琴讲坛”。

2021年“鹤琴讲坛”将由卫乃兴教授主讲，演讲题目待定。

活动背景

北外语料库团队将每年12月1日定为“语料库日”（The Corpus Day）。于此期间设立一年一度的“鹤琴讲坛”，于12月第一周某日举行。鹤琴讲坛受英国伯明翰大学“辛克莱讲坛”Sinclair Open Lecture启发。讲坛每次邀请一位专家开讲，涉及语料库语言学的历史发展、实证课题或前景展望。鹤琴讲坛尤其重视中国学者在语料库语言学方面的独特贡献。

讲坛得名“鹤琴”，在于陈鹤琴先生1922年发表了“语体文应用字汇”一文，是我国具有语料库属性科学研究的开端。

陈鹤琴是我国幼儿教育之父，主要是一位教育学家。

The annual Heqin Open Lecture is named after late Professor Heqin Chen (1892-1982), founder of children psychology and child education in China, who completed the first pre-computer corpus project in December 1922. An abbreviated version of the end-of-project report was published in the journal of New Education (Volume 5, Issue 5, December 1922). Read the report.

We see December 1922 as the beginning of quantitative approach to linguistics and applied linguistics research in China, hence the date of the Corpus Day.
